As part of the Coalition’s 2022 global initiative, Correcting the Record: Building Inclusive, Equitable, and Engaged Societies One Narrative at a Time, the Coalition hosted a two-day virtual global workshop on November 29-30, 2022 from 6:00 am to 10:00 am EST.

The members only workshop introduced our newly developed Correcting the Record  methodology, which is designed to support member sites at the global level to assess their repositories and strategies to flip official narratives; promote more inclusive public narratives; and confront systemic discrimination in their communities. 

In addition, the global workshop served as a peer-to-peer learning platform on amplifying the stories of those who have been excluded from mainstream narratives; assessing and rebalancing minority groups’ representation in organizations’ approaches, practices, skill sets, and tools; and interpreting repositories in an inclusive, equitable, and holistic manner. It featured theoretical and practical sessions on the power of narratives and their role in fighting discrimination today.
