Cultural Heritage without Borders – Albania (CHwB Albania) is dedicated to rescuing and preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage affected by conflict, neglect, and both human and natural disasters.

In 2014, CHwB Albania started working in the former political prison and forced labor camp of Spaç, one of the last remaining symbols of persecution under the Communist regime. The objective is to convert Spaç into a much-needed place of memory  – a physical space where Albanians and former political prisoners can ‘locate’ and address the past traumas associated with the Communist regime.
