With 6,000 years of human history and thousands of acres of woods, water, and salt marsh, the Timucuan Preserve shares the history and culture of the first French colony in the United States. Besides, the preserve shares the story of freedom and enslavement at Kingsley Plantation, while teaching about the culture of the Timucua people, for whom this park is named.
The Timucuan Preserve includes Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation.
