For more than 125 years, the Valentine has used its unique collection of objects, textiles, photos and archival material to engage our community in educational experiences and honest conversations about our region’s complex history. As an urban museum, we are committed to serving as an anchor within Richmond’s downtown and emphasizing the power of historical places through programming that invites exploration of our city. With rotating exhibition galleries, a historic home, the Valentine Sculpture Studio and outreach programs, we explore Richmond stories with audiences of all ages from students to senior citizens.
